Third-Party Reporter Approval

This applies to: Students planning to undertake an assessment using their workplace as a basis, for any unit of competency.

If you’re using your own workplace for your unit assessment task/s, we need to confirm your skills in the workplace. This requires that your current manager/supervisor observes you in the workplace and provides written feedback.

First, nominate your Third-Party Reporter (e.g. your current manager) and have them approved. Then for each assessment task, your manager will need to fill out documentation giving evidence of your demonstrated skills.

Complete once:

  1. Download your ‘Approval for Third-Party Reporter’ form below.
  2. You will need to fill in the form with your manager/supervisors information.
  3. Upload your completed form alongside your personal details at the bottom of this page along with your details.

Complete for each unit:

  1. Before submitting your assessment tasks, download and have your Third-Party Reporter complete the ‘Third-Party Evidence Collection Form/s for the unit. You can find this document in each unit under the heading “Assessment Documents”.
  2. Submit the completed form along with your other assessment documents. Do not submit using the form on this page.

Workplace Project Approval

This applies to: Students studying project management unit/s of competency and planning to undertake an assessment using a workplace project as a basis.

The Workplace Project Approval process allows CAL to confirm the suitability of workplace projects that students can use in their assessments.

Before you begin your assessment, you are required to complete the Workplace Project Approval Form and have your nominated project approved. This form provides you with detailed criteria of the workplace projects which are suitable for your assessment tasks.

Once you have completed the Approval for Workplace Projects form, please submit it below. After you submit your form, an assessor will review your workplace project and notify you via email. You can then commence using your workplace project for your assessment tasks. You will only need to complete this process once per project. If your project does not meet the requirements, you may instead use the CAL case studies provided to complete your assessment task.
